mlb.tv blackouts

By john • May 12th, 2007 • Category: opinions

Despite not being in Milwaukee, New York, Boston, Baltimore or any other city that had games going on at noon mlb.tv has blocked me from seeing them. Instead I get to see the slumping Texas Rangers host the Los Angeles Angels. A game I’d normally see on FSN anyway.

Yesterday Sammy Sosa hit his 596th career homerun in the 9th inning off of John Lackey. Lackey had a shutout going when the inning started but was removed after the home run made the score 6-3. The Rangers of course went on to make two easy outs in Hank Blalock and Brad Wilkerson to fall to 14-21. With the loss only the Royals and Nationals have worse records. It’s nothing new for the Angels and Rangers though. The Angels are 30-12 against the Rangers since 2005.

Whats on ebay today

The best 9 year old in America’s bat is on sale on ebay. Apparently the kid hit his first homer some time ago and now the bat is being sold! The ball may never be sold but who knows. Truly a unique item here.
