Jaret Wright released

Looks like even the Pittsburgh Pirates have decided against carrying Jaret Wright on their team.

The once prized arm of Wright will again be looking for work after team opted not to include him on their 40-man roster. He came into camp as a long shot to make the team but figured to be assigned to Triple-A for the beginning of the season.

In eight innings this spring he had compiled a 3.38 ERA but had walked four and struck out one.

Last season he made just three starts with the Baltimore Orioles before sitting out the season with arm trouble.

If Wright is willing to start in the minors again he figures to have no shortage of teams interested in his services.

Wright is 68-60 with a 5.09 ERA in 11 big league seasons.
