Bavasi gets fired

By john • Jun 16th, 2008 • Category: bill bavasi, major leagues, seattle mariners

It took four and a half seasons of poor performance and bad decisions but the Seattle Mariners have finally cut loose Bill Bavasi.

The team was 322-395 during his stay as general manager. With a top ten payroll the team is right now the worst in the league and that’s before we even begin to comment on the deals he gave Richie Sexson, Adrian Beltre, or Carlos Silva in recent years. How I managed to over look the Jose Vidro trade in that last sentence is an amazement as well.
Good bye Bavasi. I don’t like the Mariners but even I got tired of your crap.
I seriously don’t expect much of anything to change in Seattle.
