Kershaw sent back to Double-A

Clayton Kershaw lasted eight starts in the Los Angeles Dodgers rotation but now the young left hander is heading back to Double-A.

Kershaw was 0-2 with a respectable 4.42 ERA during his first taste of big league action but with the return of both Hiroki Kuroda and Brad Penny there just isn’t room for the 20 year old from Dallas Texas.

It doesn’t figure to be long before Kershaw makes himself a permanent fixture in the Dodgers rotation and his 33 strike outs in 38 2/3 innings shows that he has the stuff of a big league ace. As reported before the biggest knock of Kershaw is his lack of control, waslking 24 batters in that time span.

Kershaw lasted just under an average of five innings a start.

He will rejoin the Jacksonville Suns where he was 0-3 with a 2.28 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP in 43 1/3 innings prior to his call up.
