The Texas Rangers snapped an 8 game losing streak at the hands of the Boston Red Sox Saturday night. The team pounded knuckleballer Tim Wakefield for seven earned runs in 1 2/3 innings of work before pounding a Boston bullpen.

Led by Nelson Cruz’s big night, two homers and a double accounting for five RBI the Rangers offense was in full force last night. Outfielder Josh Hamilton added to his league leading RBI total with three in the contest. Every starter in the game for the Rangers collected a hit, all with the exception of Hank Blalock came around to score.

Rookie pitcher Matt Harrison improved to 7-3 on the season after allowing four runs in six innings of work.

At 70-73 the Rangers still have a realistic chance to finish above .500.
