So much for AL supremency

When the seaosn began most figured that the eventual World Series Champion would come out of the American League.

After all the Yankees, Red Sox, Angels, Tigers, Indians and others looked like giants compared to the teams of the National League.

The Phillies were considered one of the better NL teams but there was no guarantee that they would even win their division and the Chicago Cubs with their plethra of off season moves looked as about as strong of a team as some of those in the AL.

While the Yankees weren’t all that they were cracked up to be the Tampa Bay Rays and others in the AL still dominated their NL opponents, including yet another vicotry in the All-Star Game.

Things started to change though when the post season started. The Rays who were considered the best team in the AL this season barely hung on to win the ALCS, while the Phillies squashed their west coast opponents in the NLCS.

I guess it again shows that we can’t always crown a team on paper.
