Odalis Perez on verge on mutli-year deal?

Odalis Perez who signed with the Washington Nationals as a non-roster invitee to spring training last winter is rumored to be in serious negotiations with the club on an extension.
Once signed by the Nationals Perez pitched well enough in Spring Training to earn the nod for Opening Day. Now if this wasn’t the Washington Nationals where any former big league castoff could get a starting job then it could almost be made into a Disney movie.
Either way this is one of those what a difference a year makes moments. Last season Perez earned $850,000, a huge pay cut from the $7.7 million he made while pitching for the Royals the previous season but this year he has more then just one club speaking with his agent.
While just a few days ago Perez’s agent suggested the pitcher who was 7-12 with a 4.34 ERA in 30 starts for Washington last season would take his time in finding a new club, all signs are now pointing to Nationals offering a multi-year deal that would bring back the former 15 game winner.
Among the other clubs rumored to be in the hunt for Perez’s services are the New York Yankees and Chicago White Sox. With the Yankees and White Sox there is no guarantee that Perez would be in the rotation but with the Nationals he would figure to start during the first series of the season.
