It may have taken a month to happen but it appears that the Los Angeles Dodgers are talking to the San Diego Padres about acquiring future hall of fame pitcher Greg Maddux.
Maddux has suffered through possibly the worst season of his pro career due entirely to the Padres sterile offensive production. Maddux picked up his [...]

Maddux waters the dessert

By john • Jul 29th, 2008 • Category: greg maddux, major leagues, san diego padres

Winless in his last 14 starts and facing Arizona a team in which he was just 2-11 with an ERA over 5 the chances of Greg Maddux picking up career win 351 looked bleak Monday night.
Baseball however is a game of uncertainty and the Padres offense scored eight runs off of Diamondbacks starter Micah Owings [...]

After dropping 10 of their last 11 and having the worst record in baseball it’s clear the San Diego Padres will be sellers at the trade deadline.

The only productive pieces of the Padres lineup do not figure to [...]

The number 350 may just be a number to Greg Maddux but it’s a pretty huge number in the history of baseball.
Each morning when I check on the status of my blog I look to see if there are any new incoming links and I check on just how many people are visiting. Sure it [...]

I know I posted this on my Greg Maddux site but I was so excited so I’m posting it here as well.

On Monday Greg Maddux showed he still had what it takes to throw a complete game. On his way to picking up career win 336, his third of the season, Maddux scattered just five [...]

Gyroball created by Maddux?

By john • Mar 27th, 2007 • Category: daisuke matsuzuka, greg maddux

If you are anything like me you are tired of hearing about the gyroball. You probably think it’s nothing more then a breaking change up or just another way for major league baseball to get everyone from talking about Barry Bonds.
Today Tom Verducci of cnnsi.com wrote about Japanese import Daisuke Matsuzuka and the myth of [...]
