Mark Mulder considers retirement

By john • May 30th, 2008 • Category: jon daniels, major leagues, mark mulder, opinions, st. louis cardinals, texas rangers

It doesn’t happen very often but I’m willing to admit I was wrong. It’s not something I’d want any one to know but something I’ll concede this time. I should have known back in 2007 that Mark Mulder is not a top of the rotation starter anymore. In fact Mulder isn’t in any rotation at [...]

SPURS WIN IT ALL

By john • Jun 16th, 2007 • Category: opinions

The San Antonio Spurs whooped Cleveland’s ass and like everyone else in San Antonio we went cruising around town, just honking and screaming like we had lost our minds.

Had Sunday not been the Kenny Chesney concert I’d think about going down town for the parade but hey I spent a good deal of money on [...]

mlb.tv blackouts

By john • May 12th, 2007 • Category: opinions

Despite not being in Milwaukee, New York, Boston, Baltimore or any other city that had games going on at noon mlb.tv has blocked me from seeing them. Instead I get to see the slumping Texas Rangers host the Los Angeles Angels. A game I’d normally see on FSN anyway.
Yesterday Sammy Sosa hit his 596th career [...]

OOTP Baseball 2007

By john • May 11th, 2007 • Category: opinions

So I spent some money and bought OOTP Baseball Manager 2007. The game itself is pretty in-depth, probably too in-depth for most people.
Frankly I’m kinda angered by the amount of guys from Honduras and other non-existent baseball countries that make their way into leagues. To top it off the game is slower then ever! Your [...]

A few things that piss me off

By john • May 8th, 2007 • Category: opinions

I’ve been unable to post here as much of late. Friday we stopped in and saw the new Spider-Man movie, Saturday we hit the beach and Sunday we went to Six Flags.
Somewhere between there I got an eye infection. Yippie! So I’ve been sent home for the next two days, which is great for me [...]

The switch pitcher & Slammin’ Sammy

By john • Apr 8th, 2007 • Category: opinions, sammy sosa

The New York Times had an article about the most recent college kid to throw with both arms. A few years ago the idea of a pitcher who could throw with both arms was intriguing but now it just seems like a publicity stunt.
Pat Venditte has a 3.29 ERA in 18 appearances, though this is [...]

John’s 2007 season predictions

By john • Feb 20th, 2007 • Category: opinions, predictions

It’s February 20th and that means players have reported to spring training. Barry Zito and Barry Bonds are comparing notes on roids and metrosexual dress. The Kansas City Royals are still mathematically eligable to make the playoffs, and Kerry Wood still has a few weeks to plan his next unfortunate injury.
There’s position battles up for [...]
