Contrary to what was said yesterday the agent of free agent Odalis Perez denied that the left hander and the Washington Nationals are working on a multi-year deal.
Martin Arburua stated that the team has expressed an interest in retaining Perez but that both parties are going to see how the free-agent market plays out.

Odalis Perez who signed with the Washington Nationals as a non-roster invitee to spring training last winter is rumored to be in serious negotiations with the club on an extension.
Once signed by the Nationals Perez pitched well enough in Spring Training to earn the nod for Opening Day. Now if this wasn’t the Washington Nationals [...]

This is one tough task but I’ve decided to try and fine a reason to like each of the 30 teams in major league baseball. Now some were easier to find then others and while some will disagree for the reasoning I’ve done my best I think.
I hope to continue this series by creating a [...]

What’s worse? Nationals or Astros rotation

By john • Mar 20th, 2008 • Category: houston astros, washington nationals

With the recent announcements today from both the Washington Nationals and Houston Astros I found myself wondering what was worse. Were the Nationals worse off with a bunch of guys who had no big league experience or the Astros who have an ace but a rag tag group of injury prone or other wise long [...]

Non Roster Invitee: Odalis Perez - Nationals

By john • Feb 25th, 2008 • Category: non roster invitee, odalis perez, washington nationals

Perhaps no team in baseball has more uncertainty about their starting rotation then the Washington Nationals. Their opening day starter projects to be a guy who was trying to make the team last year in Shawn Hill (16 starts in 2007) followed by John Patterson who is still rehabbing from injuries. (7 starts in 2007)
Jason [...]
