I'm not sure the DeRosa move is an admission of defeat for the season. While 6.5 games is quite a bit, the Indians are on a hot streak and let's be real - is anyone scared of the Tigers? Right now I think moving DeRosa is a matter of having a logjam in the infield. With Peralta playing a competent 3B and Cabrera swinging a hot bat at short, there's no need for him on the left side. I think, right now, that the Indians are looking to Valbuena to be a permanent fixture at 2B, which is why he is getting so much playing time and behind him is Jamie Carrol, also swinging a hot bat. Cleveland is stocked with potential firstbasemen with Martinez and Garko both able to play the position (not to mention the possibility of bringing LaPorta back up). Moving DeRosa now is a way to get his salary off the books and maybe pick up a journeyman reliever. Just a thought...ask me again after the Yanks series.

It's worth noting that Craig did pinch hit last night but struck out in the Pirates 8-5 loss to Milwaukee.
It's also worth pointing out Brandon Moss was 1/2 with 2 walks and a run scored

bummer
