By john | July 23, 2007
Despite leaving with a 5-2 lead after six innings Greg Maddux was denied his 341st win for the 5th time.
Milton Bradley hit a three run homer in the 5th to propell the Padres to the lead and Maddux allowed five hits and struck out two before departing.
The Padres held the lead until the 8th when reliever Scott Linebrink allowed four runs to score on homers from Matt Holliday and Brad Hawpe. It was the sixth blown save for Linebrink and drops him to 3-3 on the season.
Taylor Buchholz picked up the win in relief for the Rockies, his fifth. Manny Corpas struck out two in the 9th to nail down his fifth save of the season.
