Maddux and Padres come to terms
By john | November 6, 2007
Greg Maddux and the San Diego Padres have come to terms on a one year deal worth $10 million dollars. The Padres had held an $11 million dollar option while Maddux had a $8.75 million option following the competion of his last contact. Had Maddux pitched 200 innings instead of 198 last year a $10 million dollar option would have kicked in automatically.
Last season Maddux was 14-11 with a 4.14 ERA.

The march towards 374 wins begins now…..the all-time NL record and the modern wins record. That, combined with Mr. Clemens latest troubles, will leave most to consider Maddux to be the greatest pitcher ever.
