As long as I’ve been watching baseball Greg Maddux has been my favorite player. You can read more about all that here.
Does Greg know about the site?
I don’t know. If he does he hasn’t said anything about it. I sent him a letter once about it but with all the mail he receives I really didn’t expect a return. I did mail his brother Mike Maddux some cards and wrote the link to the page I made of him. He could of told Greg I suppose.
Host
http://www.geocities.com is the host for this website. It has been the host since the first week of March 2002. Originally the site was located at http://www.geocities.com/ff7tribute however that changed January 16, 2003 with the purchase of http://www.tireball.com.
The html files were for the most part created with FrontPage Express, with Notepad being used occasionally. To view the html simply right click your mouse and select view source. The codes all right there. Please do not write and ask for me to build you a site. I will attempt to help you with code but sorry building and maintaining this site is enough. As you can tell a lot of effort was put into making sure that each html file closely match others of its type. I’ve pretty much come up with a template and just type information into it. I feel that the white background and black font, though considered dull by some, is easy on the eyes and matches just about anything. This makes banner changes, background changes and being able to have sites look different relatively easy.
Who owns the Images?
Many of the graphics that you see on the site are original. Created using Banner Maker Pro, Paint Shop Pro and other various editing tools. Others have been collected off the internet. If you hold rights to an image please let us know. I will remove it or provide a link if that is your wish. Please read the disclaimer for more information. A large variety of the Final Fantasy images actually belong to Square soft Inc.The Webmaster
I, john@tireball.com am the current webmaster of the site. You can read more about me here. I have been dedicated to this site for over 6 years. While I do occasionally have help, the majority of the site work is done by me. I’ve created the html, edited photos, searched for information and code and spent a large number of hours looking for ways to make the site even better.

FAQs
Q: Do you plan to keep updating the page? For how long?
A: I hope I never stop! I would love to keep updating this site.
… a tribute to Greg Maddux
Greg has a few seasons left in him as the posting of this. Then there’s the five years we wait for him to make the hall of fame. Eventually the site will probably expand to contain things other then just Greg. Most sites end up coming about that. Eventually there’s only so much you can add or say about a certain topic before you are done. Being “done” would mean you have to either add some stuff a little far away from the original topic or just leave the site up and not update it.… a tribute to Final Fantasy
My Final Fantasy VII page is pretty much going to be the way it is. There’s not much else, if anything, that I could really add to it. While that does leave it there as outdated for long periods of time the info is actually still up to date. Not much changes on a video game after 7 years and a movie.
Q: What made you make a Final Fantasy site?
A: I’ve always been a fan of the game. For some reason I just had the urge to create a site.
Q: Have you created other sites? About what?
A: Well after my first few Final Fantasy sites I thought maybe I should try something else. I used to participate in e-wrestling, I ran a few feds and created a site for my wrestler Vulture. Also I made a site about Javy Lopez, the catcher of the Atlanta Braves. Stuff was going great for that site, I was even given a domain name by a company that later went bankrupt. After I lost the domain I lost all my visitors, the remains of the site have since be erased from the web. Later I created a site about Todd Helton of the Rockies, and then a Brian Griese of the Denver Broncos site using almost the same layout as this site. It was hosted on AOL but I have since removed the sites. In between creating these sites I also ran a baseball sim, making a page for that as well as one for my team.
Q: Is … a tribute to Final Fantasy your first Final Fantasy Website?
A: No this is not my first Final Fantasy Website. Sometime in 1998 I began fiddling around with websites, along with a friend of mine. I didn’t even have the internet when we started! We both had websites on http://www.geocities.com but neither one was more then a simple web page. My first website was also on geocities but I deleted it by accident, since then I have had other Final Fantasy sites as well as some on athletes. In February I began working on my Final Fantasy VII site again and presto its here again. When I first purchased the tireball.com domain name, I used my final fantasy site as the initial site.
Q: Do you actually read your email?
A: All the time. I rarely go longer then 2-3 days without checking it. If you want to contact me its john@tireball.com don’t be afraid.
